Meet Vaishali – The Visionary Behind DRC Cinemas
Akshara Abhyasa to DRC
Hailing from the esteemed Padaki business family of Mysuru, Vaishali’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply rooted in legacy and passion. The granddaughter of N.S. Padaki — the man behind the iconic “N.S. Padaki” industrial spares store and Shantala Theatre — Vaishali’s love for cinema began early. Her Akshara Abhyasa was held at the very theatre her grandfather built, making film a part of her identity since childhood.
After years of supporting her family’s diverse ventures in finance, poultry, and textiles, she embraced a new chapter in 2011 — leading the establishment of Mysuru’s first-ever multiplex. With grit, vision, and unwavering family support, she launched DRC Cinemas on October 1, 2011, becoming South India’s first and only woman exhibitor.
Vaishali is not just a businesswoman; she’s a storyteller, a trailblazer, and a living bridge between tradition and innovation in the world of cinema.
